New York Super Fudge Chunk & Organic Milk

Went to ACME to pick up some milk. The ACME milk was well stocked, but I had to do a "Florida Natural reach" for the 1% Organic Milk (I really wanted fat free, but it was sold out). I buy organic milk, mostly because the taste and it came from a clean cow. I also bought a pint of Ben & Jerry's New York Super Fudge ice cream (had a double workout this day).
Indulging on the chocolate ice cream & hunting the white & dark chocolate bits as I read the back of the carton: "WE oppose Recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone" (aka rBGH) it read. Its the adult version of a kid feasting on his favorite "sweet" cereal. Looking at the back of the box, looking for the prize inside, and somewhat interacting with the TV commercial that promoted the cereal. .....so a googling I go ....to find out more about rBGH!
Researching this hormone (via internet) basically tells me that cows injected with rBGH are like cows "on crack". They produce more milk in a faster time period than cows with out the hormone. What really stood out to me was the information of the lifespan of a cow on the hormone, which is 2-4 yrs. Cows should live up to 15-20yrs.
My own conclusion (theory)is: The humans drinking rBGH injected cow's milk, could also reduce their own lifespan.
So I read on...and on...and there was an anology: rBGH cows milk is to breast cancer as the cigarette is to lung cancer. Reminding me of a time "back in the day" people did not link cigarettes to any cancers. Yes, there are two sides to every story....and usually in an argument such as this one, money lies behind the stories. Money is the reason why some farmers (companies) use the rBGH hormone. supply and demand. Most corporations (small & big) want their workers to produce more, and be more time efficient. Tap into it now, and worry about it later. Unfortunately, breast cancer and all cancers are not going away. They seem to be increasing and affecting everyone around us. Fortunately, treatments are progressing. People are donating more to research. What people are not aware of, is the very simple act of purchasing a product can decrease cancer. All the shelves of the organic milk were pretty much bare, while the non-organic milk shelves were well stocked. Supply and demand. The more people demand dairy & meat products from "average" & "ordinary" animals...the more we are free of cancer agents. Imagine an athlete taking steroids (caught or not)...so what if they won a championship, you know eventually it will catch up to him or her. Their lifespan may be reduced.
Its hard to completely cut out the cancer agents, its hard to walk outside of a building and inhale second hand smoke, its hard to pass up Starbucks knowing they use hormone milk, or pass up the tasty steaks with added hormones. sometimes its hard just getting out of bed. But its not hard to finish a pint of Ben & Jerry's!
