Spur of the moment, on Valentine's Day, I made a visit to the Convent of Divine Love in Philadelphia at lunch. My first visit to their chapel lasted about 5 mins. As I walked in, I saw the nun dressed in pink kneeling before the alter praying. I almost thought it was a statue, until I focused on her and noticed a little bit of movement while she was praying. A sigh of my relief... because this is what I came to see. The visit was recommended by my mother this morning. it goes back earlier this morning when a friend of mine called to ask me to pray for his father, and I thought of taking his request to the pink nuns who dedicate their lives to pray for people. So in addition to asking my mother (not a nun, but a woman who has also dedicated her life to pray for people), I thought of asking the "pink nuns", who pray for people 24/7. The "pink- nuns" order is Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters. I gave my petitions for prayer to the Sisters and knelt to pray for no longer than 5 mins...the experience was truly peaceful. If you want to make a prayer request you can visit the chapel or you can make it online: http://www.adorationsisters.org/requests.html
I finished my work day, ran for an hour, had dinner with my family, and then gave Valentines to my nieces and nephews...and to end the night, I watched my 4 old nephew spill a half gallon of grape juice all over the kitchen (oh the tears and the hugs!)
