Here are pics of my niece, Gianna. She is currently at CHOP and waiting (patiently with her parents) to have surgery to put in a G tube. Gianna has Aircardi syndrome. A rare genetic disorder. Her feeding has interrupted her breathing many times, so that is why the G tube is to be inserted at this time. Gianna was admitted last Monday, had tests last week, and now is currently waiting for her OR time and recovery process. The pulmonologist said the G tube will be inserted for 6-8 weeks so the airway can heal. They will re-assess and hopefully Gianna can go back to normal feeding. She's a love bug, smiles, coos, and giggles for us when she is awake. Mom is staying overnights with Gianna as often as possible, but still tries to keep her little boys at home with Grandmom Anne. Dad is working, back and forth to CHOP, and also keeping the boys aligned at home. We are hoping Gianna returns home with her brothers as soon as possible.
