"Oh, you're changing your heart, Oh, you know who you are.."

Saw & Heard Feist in Philly lastnight at the Academy of Music. (her choice of venue)
LOVED IT!!
Her opening act "Hayden" was a hoot! Talented musician with the harmonica, guitar, and piano... who sings about waiting for his cat to come back to the house, security guards, house being robbed while he was in it, alarm clocks ticking,... he's on the Starbuck's music scene and is also from the country north of us.
Feist opened with a cry for help in the shadows, where the band came out to help her and started with Mushaboom, and I Feel It All. Behind them was a movie screen with "Mistress of Shadows" performing shadow puppetry, or shadow art. There weren't bunny ears hopping across, but there were lots of birds.. and other cool shadow art.. including watching waves made with a finger paint technique. lots of snowflakes... as Feist was dressed like a snowflake in the Spring.
She has a unique voice, it has a lullaby'sh accent, but get her with an electric guitar she is totally bad ass! And her early PUNK rock band roots come out! She looked similar to Chrissy Hines from the Pretenders with her blunt bangs and pin straight long dark hair holding the guitar. She was interactive with crowd, and the crowd loved her! We came in singing "1-2-3-4... ooohhh, uh-oh" and we left singing..."9 or 10 money can't buy the love you had back THEN.......daaa, du-da, du-da, da-da."
