"I'll always love my Mama...she's my favourite girl..."

I always think of my mom when I hear this song by the Intruders. And every year we celebrate Mother's day at the Phillies game on ladies' day. The Phanatic and his mother dance to this song ... as mom and I sing along in our shaded seats. Its been an ongoing tradition for about 4-5 yrs now that my oldest sister, mom, and me head to the Phillies game and do either lunch or dinner, at my mother's request. The Phillies have always put on a great game and cool give-aways for our female family outing. Today was a great day for us Philly Fans! The game ending was spectacular, with Ryan Howard sliding into home plate for the win on a hit by outfielder, Jenkins, that passed Giant's second baseman. Although, the game ball should really go to Phil's catcher, Ruiz. He pretty much owned the 8th inning. It was a beautiful day at Citizens Bank park: I took some pics to capture the moment.

Part of the tradition is that I run the Broad Street Run in the morning, and head to the Phillies game in the afternoon. Today I ran it and took the local subway train to the start line for the first time. Our train was late, and it forced me to pass at least 10,000 people in the first 5 miles. I did not achieve my personal goal time, but I did enjoy seeing my Aunt & cousins at the Ritz for some Hello's! It gave me a little more energy once I saw them! I was about 4 mins slower than last year's time (10 miles in 1hr14mins). BUT, I felt good after the run. I didn't hurt like I did last year, and had a quicker recovery time. (except for those banged up knees from the mtb ride on Fri)

We finished our day of traditions with dinner at a DELCO spot known for good steak and lobster, yum. Mom insisted on treating us! (Talking 'bout mama)Oh, she's one of a kind(Talking 'bout mama)You got yours, and I got mine(Talking 'bout mama)
